‘Hwarang’ Cast Update 2021: Here’s What Park Seo Joon, Go Ara, Park Hyung Sik, BTS V, And More Are Up To Now


 Five years since “Hwarang” closed its curtain, the cast is still shining brightly in the show business. The stellar cast of “Hwarang” have been gaining recognition in different parts of the world, and here are the things that keep them busy today and in the upcoming months.

Park Seo Joon

Even before he appeared in “Hwarang” Park Seo Joon already established his name as an actor. He led most of the known rom-com K-Dramas that most of the fans enjoyed. From “Kill Me, Heal Me,” “She Was Pretty,” “Fight for My Way,” to “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” Seo Joon had a great experience of developing his full potential as an artist.

Park Seo Joon proved his prominence not just in South Korea but also in Japan. In fact, he is the most in demand K-Drama actor in Japan. After Asia, he will start his Hollywood journey for he was confirmed to star in the American movie “The Marvels.” Park Seo Joon also has two more movies slated to premiere soon, “Concrete Utopia” and “Dream.”

Go Ara

The ever-beautiful and talented Go Ara has worked with lots of creative and respected actors in the Korean industry. After “Hwarang” Go Ara teamed up with Song Seung Heon for OCN’s “Black.” In 2018, the actress turned into a brave but kind-hearted judge, in JTBC’s “Miss Hammurabi,” in which she partnered with idol-actor Kim Myung Soo, it was also her third time working with veteran actor Sung Dong Il.

Park Hyung Sik

After “Hwarang” Park Hyung Sik led the romance comedy series “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.” His adorable and humorous side left the viewers in awe, plus Hyung Sik’s chemistry with Park Bo Young became one of the most favorite K-Drama couples in 2017. He took home the Best Popular Actor award in 2017 1st Seoul Awards for his portrayal as An Min Hyuk in SWDBS.

In 2018, he starred in the Korean adaptation of the famous US television series “Suits.” Just months after Park Hyung Sik finished “Suits,” he officially entered the military service. This 2021, he already finished his mandatory military service and is expected to make his drama return with “Happiness.”

SHINee’s Minho

This idol-actor knew how and when to steal the spotlight, may it be in dramas or stage performances. SHINee’s Minho immediately returned to the small screen with “18 Again” after he finished “Hwarang.” The following year, he appeared in “The Most Beautiful Goodbye.” He served the military in April 2019 and was discharged last November 2020.

The entertainment welcomed him with more projects, Minho made a short appearance in “Lovestruck in the City” in 2020 and currently appears in tvN’s “Yumi’s Cells” alongside Kim Go Eun and Ahn Bo Hyun.

In addition, Minho will be working with another drama “Goosebumps.”

Kim Tae Hyung / BTS V

The youngest member of the Wooga Squad, Kim Tae Hyung, found his potential in acting when he joined the “Hwarang” cast. From his jam-packed schedule as part of the biggest K-Pop boy group BTS, Kim Tae Hyung shared his talent in acting.

Most of his fans are waiting for actor Kim Tae Hyung’s comeback. Hope to see him again in a new drama!

Seo Ye Ji surprised the viewers with her character transformation in the hit 2020 K-Drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” where she played the role of Ko Moon Young, a fearless author who fell in love with Moon Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun). She also had a movie comeback this 2021 with “Recalled.”

The handsome and versatile Do Ji Han after “Hwarang” appeared in the dramas “Lovers in Bloom” and “100 Days My Prince.”
